“Who’d have thought that someone would become a Christian on the night of Halloween?
It happened in 1984 and was the most important night of my life. If it hadn’t happened there is no doubt in my mind that I would not have been able to cope with what was to come. In July 2006, Claire (18) and Jenny (15) were killed by a drink-driver, leading to some extraordinary encounters with God and a message of good news that I have become compelled to share. |

I chose to bear no grudges and thus kept an open relationship with God. In the following year, this led to many powerful experiences of his son Jesus and the wonders of Heaven. I am now compelled to share a message of glorious hope sufficient for the darkest of times.

Dear Phil
It was such a delight to meet you at the forum a few weeks ago. (I gave you my card.) Thank you so much for writing this book, it has been heartbreaking yet incredibly inspiring. I have only been a Christian for 18 months and have had many personal battles to overcome not least of all learning to trust my Lord. Your vulnerability in this book is such a powerful inspiration. Just makes me realise that God wants to be there for us, we don’t have to go it alone. I have read many books since becoming a Christian but not one that shows us Jesus personality as well as this. I am so sorry for the pain you and your family have been through since Claire and Jenny died but I am so encouraged and inspired by your words. Thank you so much for writing this book. Abundant blessings to you and your family. From Ria
Hello Ria. Thank you for your kind words. Encouragement and inspiration really sum it all up. What continues to astonish is all that’s been required of me through these years is trust and faith that he is who he says he is. Everything else just follows.
Hi Phil,
I have not heard you speak but am reading A12 to Heaven at the moment and wanted to say how inspirational your walk with Jesus is! My love goes out to you, Heather, Amy and Tom especially today, the fourth anniversary of Claire and Jenny’s passing. I was seriously ill over twenty years ago and was unconscious but God spoke through the darkness and gave me a glimpse of heaven which matches your description! How blessed are we that we know where we are going!
May God continue to lead and guide you in all you do,
Linda
That’s really exciting to read Linda. I know it should be no surprise when believers find that their experiences match up as it is the same Spirit who reveals. But it’s pretty thrilling when it happens.
