“together in Christ”

.
Church
Work
Death
We are part of Lowestoft Community Church that currently meets in an odd-looking warehouse on an industrial estate.
It’s quite a busy bunch of people and now there are two services on a Sunday. The earlier one starts at nine which is far too early for me and tends to attract the elderly and young familes. The later one starts at eleven which is far more palatable for a Sunday morning.
Our church is part of New Frontiers and is involved in lots of community stuff. We also have links abroad, particularly into Northern Europe. There always seems to be some interaction with scandinavians going on. They assure us they have no intentions of stealing our women like their illustrious ancestors did.

You will be most enthralled to know that Heather and I are both currently working as teachers and squirming in the clammy paws of politically-driven OFSTED.
There has never been as much interference in teaching as there is now. They place the reason for falling standards across the nation as down to incompetent teachers. So they have brandished their sticks and marched in to beat the failures into shape.
However, they fail to realise their own true incompetency by ignoring the depths to which our society has sunk. Respect, security and aspiration has slipped away from all but the priveleged few.
Schools are failing because society is failing, simple as that.

Losing Claire and Jen continues to be a massive blow and I don’t believe we will ever truly recover. It’s changed our outlook on life and sometimes the motivation to live it well. This is where faith has to kick in. Life is worth it because Jesus is worth it and it’s not like the girls are gone forever.
It’s going to be a great day when we meet again.
Life and leisure
From holidays and walks in the country, through smelly youth festivals to birthdays and weddings, the Stods are a very active family. Life and leisure offers a dazzling array of scenic and anthropolistic interest.
